The WYD Rio2013 institute has postponed the launch of the official logo, which was expected to take place on February 1, in respect to the victims’ families of thetragedy that occurred in downtown Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, January 25th.
In a press release, the President of the Institute and Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, Dom Orani João Tempesta expressed his regret for the victims and families who are suffering, and so urged all to pray.
The Archbishop asks for all the clergy responsible for parishes and Archdiocesan chapels, to offer church masses and services for the intention of the deceased and their families, as a sign that the Catholic Church is united for those who were affected by this tragedy.
Trustful in God’s mercy, Dom Orani invites all parents, friends and authorities to attend the mass for the deceased, expected to take place on Thursday, February 2nd at 10 am at San Sebastian´s Cathedral on Avenue República do Chile.
