RIO2013 SIGNS PRODUCTION PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT


Rio2013 signs contract with Dream FactoryThe commitment to make this the best World Youth Day - the dream of God’s heart for Rio de Janeiro and for the whole world - has gained increasing momentum. Last night, January 24, the Institute for World Youth Day Rio2013 signed an agreement with the Dream Factory, a Grupo Artplan company, to manage the production of the entire WYD project.
The signing ceremony took place during the delivery of the St. Sebastian of Culture Award, sponsored by the Cultural Association of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro, in the House of Art and Culture Julieta de Serpa.
Signing the partnership contract were Dom Orani John Tempesta, President of the Institute and Archbishop of Rio, and Dudley Magellan, CEO of Dream Factory.
“[Dream Factory is] a company that is respected worldwide for the production of grand events, and I am confident that the work and mission that they will undertake for WYD will be of the utmost professionalism. Meanwhile, we will see to the religious portions of the events, the spiritual aspects, which are our responsibilities,” said Dom Orani.
According to the Vice President of the Institute, Auxiliary Bishop Dom Paulo Cesar Costa, the contract provides that the Dream Factory will employ all its expertise in order to help plan WYD. “It’s an agreement that aims to combine forces in the sense that we can build a good [WYD] and that it may be good in all aspects, both in organization, as well as in evangelisation,” he said.
Artplan has been in the event production industry for 45 years, and its subsidiary, Dream Factory, just celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2010. “Perhaps our most important project, [WYD will be] more relevant in the history of Dream Factory than those 10 years of existence,” said Dudley Magellan.
The director of the Dream Factory also pointed out: “Participating in the organization of WYD is a great privilege. Rio de Janeiro today is poised to prepare and to deliver the greatest journey of all time in terms of quality for the pilgrim, urban mobility and quality of life for those who are in the city. ”
