WordPress 3.3 “Sonny” is out

WordPress 3.3, the latest version of the best blogging platform is out for update.

Named “Sonny” in honor of the great jazz saxophonist Sonny Stitt, WordPress 3.3 introduces new features and upgrades to further improve our web publishing experience.

What’s new in WordPress 3.3 Sonny:

• Media uploading. Now there’s just one icon for any media uploads. WordPresswill just detect the file type, and display the appropriate fields for your information. Also, drag-and-drop uploading is now supported, from your desktop to the uploader. ‘Sonny’ also added rar and 7z file formats to the list of allowed file types in the uploader.
• Dashboard design. Flyout submenus speeds up the navigation by limiting clicks. As you hover on menus, the submenus will magically appear, providing single-click access to any dashboard screen. Dashboard header and admin bar is now combined into one toolbar.

WordPress also upgraded the dashboard homepage, permalink structure and more.
